Dawn Patrol Rally June 27th, 2004 - Bloomington, Indiana

This was the "Dawn Patrol, Southern IN Sector's" (Monroe Co. RC Club) first WW1 Fly-In,
and there were approximately 13 WW1 aircraft in attendance. For a low-key, minimally
promoted event, CD Bob Shireman was pleased with the results. This is a great flying
field, in a beautiful rural Indiana setting.

It was a good time, and many "patrols" were made, with but one mishap. A new 1/4 scale Fokker DVIII
was lost due to "enemy action"  although no allied pilots claimed a "kill". (Actually, it was radio problems,
and the "Razor", although heavily damaged, looked repairable).

The Fly-In also marked the (static) debut of the Russ Kuhn's 1/4 scale Nieuport 17bis. This is the first of the
"Nieuport Project 13" that is completed and nearly ready to fly.

Many thanks to Bob Shireman and the Monroe County RC Flyers for hosting this event.
