Don Carroll (a.k.a. "AbuFletcher"
on RCU) -
Orange,
California - USA
but now back in Shikoku,
Japan
(university proff.)
"I've been fascinated with WWI aircraft for just
about as long as I can remember. I know I bought a book on the
subject, and poured over it for years, when I was in the fifth grade.
They have a calm grace to them that the later warbirds lack. One can
only imagine the sort of guts it took to do a loop in one of these early
aircraft.

Jim Plucinsky - Bloomingdale,
New Jersey - USA
"As far as I can remember WW1 had always held a
certain interest in my life. Just the sight of these beautifully crafted
machines taken to the air and thought of how the pilots flew them into
combat by their wits and the seat of their pants makes it rewarding to
recreate a scaled version of one".

Daniel
(von Hammer) Brett - Georgetown, Texas - USA
"I have always been fascinated since I
was very little with old planes. I love the fabric and wood, all the
bracing wire and drag, the challenging flight characteristics, the crowd
appeal, the history, and the pilots. They just have such classic lines and
are probably more enjoyable to build than to fly sometimes. They present
such a challenge in modeling."
